MEET THE ARTIST

Laila Aaris is a contemporary painter working primarily with acrylics,

using palette knife and edge to build layered, textured compositions.
 

She is largely self-taught, shaped by years of experimentation and practice.
Selected formal training and mentoring have further refined her technique and artistic focus.
 

Laila came to painting as an adult, following a background in biochemistry, graphic design, and entrepreneurship.
These disciplines continue to influence her work, informing structure, material awareness, and visual balance.
 

At the core of her practice are texture, form, and color.
She works intuitively to create surfaces that hold movement and depth,
allowing the subject to feel present and materially alive.
 

Her motifs move between urban environments, figurative subjects, and wildlife.
Rather than working within strict genres, she focuses on presence and atmosphere, letting material and process guide the final expression.
